Dato Syed Amin Aljeffri is a well known corporate leader within the Malaysia and ASEAN circles. He obtained his Economics degree from University of Malaya in 1971. He is a Chartered Accountant from the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, a CPA with the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore, a Council Member of Malaysia Institute of Accountants, a Certified Financial Planner with Financial Planning Association of Malaysia and a Fellow of the Malaysian Institute of Taxation.
Dato’ Syed Amin’s previous work experience since 1971 to 1981 covered his employment with Esso in Malaysia and the United States of America. He also worked with Touche Ross Canada before he started his public accounting and consulting practices, AljeffriDean Chartered Accountant (M).
Dato’ Syed Amin is currently the President of the Malay Chamber of Commerce Kuala Lumpur, and was a chairman for year 2005 and co-chairman year 2006. Presently, he sits on the Co-Chairman of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council. He is also a Council Member of the East Asia Business Council and the Malaysia-China Business Council.
He was formerly the Secretary General of the ASEAN Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the Vice President of National Chamber of Commerce & Industry Malaysia, the Deputy President ofÂ Malay Chamber of Commerce Malaysia, Council Member of the Malaysian-British Business Council and a Panel Member of the Entrepreneur Rehabilitation Fund.
Dato Syed is also a member of the Board of Islamic University College of Malaysia, and the Small and Medium Industries Development Corporation (SMIDEC). He also the Malaysian Honorary Council for the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.

Dato Syed was also a columnist for Utusan Malaysia, a national daily newspaper, for four years wherein he expressed his views and opinions on the business situations in Malaysia. He had authored a book on management in the Malay Language entitled,Sekilas Pandang Gaya Pengurusan Masa Kinia and had lectured on topics pertaining to business, corporate management and economics to several private organizations and public institutions in Malaysia.
